Here we go. Did I miss anything?
Welcome to the Get Opinions About Your Board section of ProBoards Support! Here, you can create a thread and receive overall reviews about your forum's design, organisation, content, etc. Please note: this is NOT an advertisement board; that is located here. Also, if you are looking for rates on your skin only, please post in the design board.
Below are the revised GOAYB rules; please follow them when creating your thread. Keep in mind that the raters - moderators and members like - are volunteers, and not obligated to reply. GOAYB is what you make of it, so be patient, be productive, and have fun!§ - ProBoards Forums Only ~ no personal websites, non-ProBoards forums, or using a ProBoards forum to lead to a personal website/non-ProBoards forum. Updated: You may use your domain name if you purchased one, provided it leads directly to your ProBoards forum.
§ - No Advertisements ~ This is a place to get reviews on your forum; the advertisement board is located here.
§ - No Hijacking ~ no posting your link in someone else's thread, even as an example. This is considered unfair advertisement, and could cause confusion for other raters.
§ - No Mini-Modding ~ if you see a thread that breaks any of these rules, do not mini-mod! Please send a PM to a GOAYB mod (Improvisator, Kami, or Venom); or, if the matter is urgent [such as rapid spamming] PM any online staff member. Please send only one PM to one moderator. Updated: GOAYB-related custom titles do not allow members to minimod.
§ - Posting Limitations ~ one thread may be created in a twenty four hour period. You may create another thread after this time has passed, but only if you have not bumped your prior thread in the past 12 hours. you may have no more than two active threads bumped within a twenty four hour period. Lastly, only one forum, per thread is allowed.
§ - Bumping ~ you may bump only once every twelve hours. Please do not ghost bump. Ghost bumping is when you bump your thread, then delete that bump and make another bump post afterward.
§ - How to Post a Forum for Rates
- All forums must follow ProBoards Terms of Service, including keeping all content (PMs included) PG13. Please refer to the TOS and Community Guidelines for further info. Any forums posted which don't follow the TOS will be warned once, and locked if the warning is ignored.
- use a DIRECT link, as defined above, to your ProBoards forum.
- Only Admins & Co-Admins can post a forum for rates. If you are not the main admin (if your username is not 'admin'), please specify so in the opening post.
- Your thread title must be the name of your forum and/or its subject matter ONLY. Updated: Please refrain from using ALL CAPS.
- NO asking for members, staff, offering staff positions , directing people to click the link in your signature, or posting redirects.
- Forums MUST be open to guests. This means "guest must log in" or "maintenance mode" must not be activated. Having closed-off sections are OK, provided we can see the forum as a whole.
- Brief descriptions (250 characters or less) only! This is not an advert board; we don't need to know the entirety of your plot, how many threads you have, how many members you have, etc. Do not bypass the script in place in order to get around this rule.
- If you use a premade skin, please credit the original creator, and make a note in your post that the skin is a premade.
- If you receive a negative rate please don't take it personally. People rate based on their tastes, and their tastes might not be the same as yours. Please don't get abusive to members who give you a negative rating. That said, if the member gives an abusive rating, please report it to a moderator.
§ - How to Properly Rate a Forum
- Do not minimod, as was earlier stated. If you see a post that doesn't follow any of the rules within this thread, please PM a GOAYB moderator: Improvisator, Kami, or Venom. In the event of an urgent matter, such as constant spam, please PM any one available moderator. Please note: one or two early bumps is not an 'urgent matter'.
- A proper rate should always include constructive criticism, suggestions for improvement, tips on how to implement the improvements [links to codes, etc], and a list of what you feel the thread starter has done right.
- Do not copy/paste codes in your post. To avoid any mis-copied codes, please link directly to the source.
- Be nice & thorough when rating. If you can't be nice when rating, or cannot give a good quality rate, do not post.
- Don't direct people to PB design forums when rating; this is an unfair advertisement for that forum. Instead, link people to the design boards.
- No Rate for Rates - to clarify, don't say "I'll rate your forum if you rate mine!".
- If you rated the forum before but in a different thread, please link to your old rate to avoid confusion.
§ - If you are banned from ProBoards Support ~ your forum is also banned from GOAYB.
Saying Thank You! While manners cannot be forced, it's recommended that you thank the people who rate your forum. It's more likely to get them to rate again, and rate any future forums. Hearing 'thank you' when you rate a forum makes people feel like their efforts were appreciated, and a happy rater is a more productive rater. =]
